While GenAI is certainly not the preferred solution (it is not my preference), it is a solution.

There are a few historical drama channels on YouTube which have used GenAI successfully to help visualize the narrative.

I suspect that's why we're seeing larger studios move that direction.

However, the funding issue - which I agree is due to attacks on humanities and the arts - is due to other factors as well ... primarily, the shoes lack demand from viewership.

People will absolutely pan this because of the AI generated visuals. However, programming for historical projects is boring, poorly funded, and there is a very slim selection.
