Speaking has been a weak spot for me when learning a language. In 2025, I want to change that.

I chatted with three language teachers, and their ideas ranged from AI to grammar instruction to letting go of the idea of perfection.

For me, Afrikaans and Spanish. Both took about a year.

I reached an intermediate level in Spanish pretty easily because I already spoke French and Italian.

I made quick progress in Afrikaans because of its simple grammar. And I was learning it for love, so... 🤣 #langsky

I'm working on Greek this year too! I've done two self-study sessions so far, which I guess isn't terrible (one per week?). I'm also continuing to use comprehensible input for Italian and Spanish.

Where is the language learning/polyglot community at?

Also, do we use hashtags on Bluesky? I haven't seen very many. #langsky
