As a starting point, the TV coverage of UK elections shouldn't visibly hold the actual viewer in contempt. 'You want to see the declarations? Actually on TV? Ew' might as well have been the ticker tape for a lot of the GE2024 coverage.

back in the day they definitely showed more declarations of results (1997 for example). 2024 was particularly dire. I suspect it might be the result of two trends:
- political programmers embarrassed at showing something as "uncool" as politics
- obsession with pointless panel debate squabbling
