My dad used to keep bees, and I inherited one of his hives and kept bees for a time. They don't make beekeeper suits in my size so I handled them without one.

I used to be terrified of bees but they really don't bother people unless you bother them quite a bit – so 20,000 new friends indeed.

It is interesting how, on another site, I have gotten hatred and vitriol in response to quoting him without commentary.

As far as I can tell the idea that cities have uniquely high rates of crime is entirely fictional, there are just more people there - who all pay a premium to stay there, which would be very hard to explain if they really were uniquely dangerous places to live

When you are protected from the consequences of your actions, any consequence feels like an attack against you.

Cashless society was a mistake. The government should take over payment processing or offer a neutral alternative that isn't beholden to the whims of some holier-than-thou ahole.

I think it's unethical for payment processors to make moral decisions for us without having their clergy accessible.
