I've been in situations where people assume that friends of mine, by association with me, have the same degree of comfort when interacting with kink and flirtation via kink language. And I feel indirectly responsible for the harassment they've received, but also, don't assume. It's not hard.

Like. I invite people to call me a big fat balloon, a blimp, etc. But that doesn't mean you should do that to anyone else who has my kinks, or exists adjacent to me, unless they specifically show they're okay with that.

Like, if I get called pig out the blue, I'd probably just block you. Y'know?

I think it's super important to restrict kink language to spaces where it's invited by the person themselves.

It's possible that I'm old fashioned, but I find the term chubby chaser sort of unacceptable. We decry the use of the word chaser in any other circumstance. Why we're passive in allowing it to exist when referring to body weight is bizarre to me, it just feels so othering to me.

That isn't to say other fat people are always innocent of fetishization. I've had people be very strange about my height, masculinity, voice, etc in the past. But as an initial point of comfort, I do admit to being wary of people on the thinner side who engage in chaser nomenclature and culture.

Something I find difficult to articulate at times is my sexual comfort, it's not "fat or nothing".

I've been fetishized by chasers for over a decade in very degrading ways, and so I'm more initially comfortable flirting and opening up sexually to other fat people, because of our shared experiences.
