I speak German and it helped immensely when learned Afrikaans, which is very similar to Dutch. So I'd say it will indeed be useful.

Absolutely, Madam. It's a third conditional: IF + SUBJ + HAD + 3RD FORM..., SUBJ + WOULD (NOT) HAVE + 3RD FORM... And I'll dedicate this week to linking (cohesive) expressions just for you. So watch this space...๐Ÿ˜€

I thought I might try and get a group of interested people together on here, so send me a message if you'd like to have a go. More power to your elbow with the languages you are learning.

Would you be interested in learning some dead languages? I've had a crack at Old English and Old Norse. If you speak Dutch and German, you'll be in pole position to learn those.

Earthseed We are Earthseed The life that perceives itself Changing. Earthseed is a real religion inspired by the science fiction ofย Octavia Butler, specifically her books, Parable of the Sowerย (1993) andย Parโ€ฆ

I didn't know that there really are adherents of the Earthseed religion described in Octavia Butler's "The Parable of the Sower". Their website includes an inspiring reading list. I'd like to find out more about them. #parableofthesower #octaviabutler #earthseed #booksky ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

"Enjoyed" is the wrong word to use of this novel as it's deeply disturbing and not for the faint-hearted. It is thought-provoking though. I was fascinated by the description of Earthseed spirituality, in which god is change and can be shaped. Merry was too ๐Ÿ˜Š. #booksky #catsofbluesky #readersky ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

When you book a tutor on italki, look at the "students to lessons taught" ratio rather than the comments or star ratings. I booked a tutor who had brilliant ratings and reviews but was a complete duffer. If students come back, that's an indicator that it's a good tutor.
