Here in Toronto, the consortium of downtown hospitals imposed a universale mask mandate -- visitors and staff alike -- Nov 18/25. Someone posted birthday photos from the pediatric cancer ward -- 1 adult out of 8 was masked. None of the kids. #EnforceMaskMandates

A few weeks ago I attended an indoor climate event that advertised online ASL translation. Yep, there was an interpreter present. But there were also three steps outside to get to the front door -- and no ramp. No automated door either. No elevator since it was on the main floor. We must do better!

FWIW, I had Long Mono [EBV] 50 years ago. Positive blood results for 18 months; slow recovery that took five years. Publicly, Long Mono was never a thing. But privately, the univ health clinic ran several support groups for those w lingering illness -- so it was indeed a thing. Just hush-hush.
