I read; knit, spin, dye & make things with fibre and textiles and mixed media; write poetry, memoir, short stories and micro fic and have ideas for longer pieces; do other art stuff; strum a ukulele from time to time.
I love the word โsquoodlyโ. Itโs so descriptive ๐

18.10.2025 07:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes, I find myself, when out and about, trying to compose little vignettes a la George Penney. โค๏ธ

07.09.2025 09:57 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Perhaps not a typo, but more a play on words - rap and hiphop relating to types of music?
02.09.2025 08:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think it sounds revolting. But then, I never liked scraping the bowl when cakes were made. Itโs something to do with the texture of the sugar. I donโt like sugar on cereal, either.

30.07.2025 07:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Several unprovoked bites from small, 'cuddly', 'but they're so friendly' small, pampered dogs. That's the damage.
25.07.2025 10:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Itโs a great film. That long take at the beginning is spectacularly done.

04.07.2025 07:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I like cats. A lot. I like some dogs. One dog in particular I liked a lot. But I don't want my feed to be a rolling vista of other ppl's cute pets. 5/7 seven posts the other day were cats.
I've been clicking on 'show less like this' for WEEKS. How many times - no more cats, no more dogs??? Please!
Arrgh - the errant apostrophe.

16.05.2025 14:23 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I loved living in Ballarat. If I ever leave here (the Outer Hebrides) I'd move back in an instant.
16.05.2025 14:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1Once upon a time I would have cringed at the idea, but not any more. I use book pages as canvas or background, for found poetry, and for highlighting/collage.

11.04.2025 09:12 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...
01.03.2025 10:46 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thereโs a lot to recommend about living here. A lot of disadvantages, too, though; just last week the weather was so bad that ferries, including the nighttime ones that bring in most of the fresh food, didnโt sail for two or three days.
27.02.2025 09:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wow - an American tea-drinker! Iโm impressed. Weโre lucky to have a tea shop here in the Outer Hebrides wot a huge selection. And I have a cousin-in-law in the south of England, who is a medical herbalist. I get some great teas from her, too.

Yes; itโs exhausting.
25.02.2025 11:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thereโs nothing better than a strong cup of tea at an old-fashioned caff after an early (04:30) start, nearly three hours on the ferry, and an hour and a half on the bus.
17.02.2025 11:39 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm going for a short retreat on the mainland tomorrow. I need space to get my head around writing again. I've done almost none since moving from Australia to the Outer Hebrides in Jan 2025. Time to prioritise. Going to work on my Lewis Chessmen idea.

18.11.2024 20:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Loving everyoneโs bookshelves.
Having moved from Australia to the Outer Hebrides early this year I was very excited recently to unpack and shelve all our books in our new bookshelves.
