In HESTIA we are co-developing a health-equity-centred approach to home design & retrofit, integrating existing + emerging building technologies to ⬆️ human & environmental health co-benefits, + ⬇️ health inequalities
For years my research was “niche”. It didn’t fit neatly into core civil engineering and didn’t have critical mass. Luckily Leeds (and funders) supported our group, and turns out it was quite important during a pandemic. Remember you have to fund what *could* be next as well as your established peaks
