A Poet review: Colombian film features incredible star performance
It’s difficult to ignore a performance like the one Rios gives.
"The film is about a washed-up loser whose inability to get even the simplest task right makes him a far more relatable character than he’d be in real life,” writes @812filmreviews.com about A POET.

Islands review: Sam Riley floats his way through Spanish intrigue
An enigmatic character study that doubles as a tentative murder mystery dripping with sexual tension.
“The character construction and how their respective desires intersect with one another, in tandem with an effectively dizzying atmosphere, render it more original than expected,” writes @carlosfilm.bsky.social about ISLANDS.

"The Love That Remains" plays out with remarkable intuition and sensitivity about its troubled characters.

Back to the Past: Hong Kong TV adaptation best reserved for fans
Will likely only satisfy fans of the original series.

Natchez review: Riveting doc explores the South's thorny racial history
The question of how we see our history and who gets to decide is powerfully presented, with respect and insight.
"It is about the personal, cultural, and commercial pressures in a small Mississippi town whose economy depends on a sanitized version of the era of wealthy plantation owners who used enslaved people to pick cotton,” writes @nellminow.bsky.social about NATCHEZ.

"The Love That Remains" plays out with remarkable intuition and sensitivity about its troubled characters.

Marvel's "Wonder Man" Builds a Bleary Showbiz Buddy Comedy For the MCU | TV/Streaming | Roger Ebert
Though its ambition surpasses its grasp, it leaves one yearning for more of this dynamic duo in the franchise's ever-inconsistent future.
Enjoyed Marvel's WONDER MAN, a buddy-comedy 'Birdman'. Was gobsmacked by the “second-gen Haitian pursuing the American Dream” rep, so this viscerally hit close to home. Albeit slightly underdeveloped it's by far the MCU's most ambitious entry in years.
