As fully ratified treaties backed by implementing legislation, the UN Charter, the 1949 Geneva Conventions, and the NATO treaty all have the status of law in the USA. The provisions of those treaties are just as binding as laws passed by Congress. Trump’s Ukraine Peace Plan would violate US law and Article 2(4) of the UN Charter by recognizing and rewarding Russia’s use of force to seize Ukrainian territory. The plan would also violate US law and multiple articles of the 1949 Geneva Conventions, which require signatories, including the USA, to search out and prosecute war criminals who violated the rights of combatants and/or civilians. Trump's plan forgives all war crimes, even the kidnapping of children and the mass execution of civilians. The plan would also violate US law by violating Article 10 of the NATO treaty, which states that NATO membership will always be open by unanimous agreement of existing members and that no third state can veto NATO membership.

Typical for Trump, his (really Putin's) so-called Peace Plan for Ukraine violates US law.
