Took the path less trodden today over Bàrr Mòr and Druim Mòr towards the Lismore Light. Had a wade in the Linnhe Loch along the way.

After the fire weather of the last few days today was a proper bluebird day. Did the Hope Valley Round with my pal Rob. 20ml/3858ft in 4:45.

15 mile run over the hills and moors this morning. Signs of spring; several Dunlin. Also two large groups of geese flying north.

Another winter bothy night with my pal Rob. Arrived in the dark and intense cold but soon had a good fire using some of the coal we'd carried in. Thanks to the owners and MBA maintenance team.

Definitely agree. These Victorian land management methods have destroyed the land. The worst example of peat degradation I ever seen was above Glen Clova. There the peat has been muir burnt to practically nothing.

Not a lot cycling done in the middle section of the Lairig Ghru when I did it in the 1970s with full cycle camp gear. I was young, I was daft........

Don't really do off road but on my carbon road bike my lowest gear is 42/32. Works for me. Just finishing a hill climb list called the Facey Fifty. We've some serious hills in Yorkshire.

I kind of like the idea single speed or even fixed wheel but in live in the Dark Peak. My average ft/ml is 115. As I'm in my mid 60s I don't think I'll be revisiting that genre. Glory days eh?

What a load of nonsense. There's nothing more than a few mice creeping about at night. No one died there.
