Things on my mind: tax the rich, ramp up green energy, restore Roe v. Wade. Some stuff I've written—on the Beatles, the Second Amendment, Indiana Jones, and other sundry things—can be found here: lyonsnyc.medium.com/follow

"Home Truths" by David Lodge is a lot of fun. I also like
"The Uncommon Reader" by Alan Bennett.
I sent your remarks to a friend who's not on Bluesky (or any social media, for that matter). His response: "High contrast color. You can always post-process the drowning in B&W."

You're the lifeguard at Mar-a-Lago and Pam Bondi is drowning in the pool. You can either shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, or you can save Bondi; do you select high contrast color film, or do you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

@buriedbybooks.bsky.social Re your comments about Hakeem Jeffries, Mark Leibovich recently called him a "dust-gatherer." That's perfect.

How is this man in charge of things?
A tariff “refund” mostly goes to whoever wrote the tariff check: the importer of record. That’s not the same person who paid more at the register. So refunds -- if they're offered -- might sound like consumer relief, but in reality, they're corporate windfalls.

The Court wasn't worried about the mess IT created when it struck down Roe.
And the Court wasn't too worried about the mess IT created with the half-assed Citizens United decision.
Savage!
Governor JB Pritzker sent Donald Trump an invoice for $8,679,261,600.
He wants families in Illinois to receive a $1,700 refund for Donald’s illegal tariffs.
