When I was translating Kon Satoshi, in order to understand him better I spent time reading his personal blog. I'll never forget him writing "They say what Aronofsky is doing is an "homage." Shin'ya Ōhira's "Black" short was absolutely incredible. Haven't felt that way watching a display of pure visual insanity since Redline. Simply superb.

That LOTR anime movie was so lifeless and utterly forgettable. You can tell it was a rush job that was pushed out the door for business reasons.

Fantastic movie. Somehow I managed to watch it a few years ago without having any knowledge of the memes beforehand (except for the skincare routine bit).

What a movie to watch for the first time. A fun one, but the franchise really takes off once they hand over the reins full time to Stahelski in the next entry.

Caught Joker 2 on Max. Truly a confounding movie, one that was not made to appeal to any audience except for maybe some of the people involved in making it. Maybe.

No worries. Apple and Spotify are bad about allowing these kinds of uploads being on artist’s pages. Nobuo Uematsu’s page used to have a lot of stuff like this.

This is a nice re-arrangement, although I suspect that it’s a fan’s work which makes it more impressive.

I hadn’t actively thought of Koike’s other Lupin work as “non-feature film length” even if technically that’s what they were. I was just happy for him to keep getting opportunities in the director’s chair.

Excited to see another Koike work come to fruition.
