The motherboard with 3 traces completely destroyed witin the BATTERY area, prior to being restored.

Took a while, but this Amiga 500+ now lives once again. Given a deep clean inside and out. Capacitors replaced, traces repaired, floppy drive restored (It was DIRTY to the point it could potentially wreck disks) Now I plan to give it an upgrade or 2. Thanks to Ian over at MCG for the solid on this.

Was going to ask how the MSX LD games work. Figured it would be a Floppy/Cart for program then stream the analog audio/video through ala the LaserActive.

That said, can any generic era LD player be used with the MSX (Or MSX2/2+) or is it specific models only via a serial cable or something?

I've also spent my recovery time over the summer writing out the entirety of RAVEN's Fragment Wielders, their structure, powers, weaknesses, how they tie to the AFSF, the LHU and Libertalia.

It's still not finished but it's getting there. I had to zoom it out to 10% because it's gotten massive lol.

Precisely ten years ago today, That was when I first started drawing during a late night whilst doing admin work on a server that was utterly dead.

That one decision was one of the best I ever made.

An unauthorized mode created by Myld during a late drunken evening after seeing visions of it in his dreams during his extended recovery time inside the RAVEN Suit and used the toolset to create it. Cobbled together from parts taken from the previous modes, the resulting fusion hasn't been as graceful as it's predecessors, with the LHU nose tip now being the tip of it's extended tail with the hard light engines now bursting out of their sides to create 4 wings capable of fast flight and hovering in place; with the intention of allowing easier means of hauling non Tesseract compatible cargo with ease.

Unlike it's predecessors it has no onboard weaponry, not even the Photonic Blasters are online in this mode. Instead, as observed by Gulf during testing, it relies on using it's speed to close the gap to viciously beat and tear apart whatever it targets using it's bizarre feet like claws to do the job. Failing that, it'll use it's Labrium Pincers below the cockpit to bite and drain anything it comes into contact with, using the crafts infused MIDAS to convert everything it consumes into fuel or to rapidly repair itself.

If all else fails, it's extended tail/torso can flex and bend to pierce and strike a target using it's Cerproct Stinger directly, before it extends open like a rubber hose to consume the cellular structure of it's victim to convert for fuel, again using the MIDAS system to do the job.

The Fledgling unit has taken on the same appearance and functionality, but instead rapidly stings a target to weaken it before consuming it and then regurgitating the resulting fuel back into the vehicle to restore it's fuel supply.

This strangely violent mode requires 2 pilots at all times to handle the delicate nature of transporting cargo, piloting it's twitch like speed and maneuverability and above all else, prevent it's onboard AI from going berserk on anything it comes into contact with due to it's hunger from it's MIDAS infusion.

The latest iteration of the Light Hawk Unit's signature vessel, created as the apex of aeronautical and photonic engineering between Eddy Dvorak and Gulf Auhre as a refinement of the previous incarnations. Thanks to research into the Aion Fragments that are the true power source behind RAVEN and the thing currently keeping Myld Malestorm alive, the bulkier standard AFSF Engines have been removed in favor of the Auhre Engine V6, a singular engine capable of enough lift to escape a planets gravitational pull with full VTOL (Vertical Take Off & Landing) support using a series of fans that intake air above the craft and expel it below as the Auhre Engine can rotate 90 degrees on itself to achieve this effect.

The wing span has been completely redesigned, allowing up to a maximum of 6 wings through the new hard light reactors that can take in multiple forms of radiation through it's front facing intake fans to excite the photons it accumulates to reshape into new hard light constructs, with the ability to rotate a full 360 degrees on a single axis.  A Vector Trap is installed into the base of the hull as a experimental Tesseract upgrade that can store vastly more non-organic materials than the Industrial Grade units commonly used by the AFSF.

Using this Vector Trap is the prototypical Dvorak Drive, a new engine that can pinpoint and compress 2 points in space using Tachyon Particles to connect the 2 points, allowing the engine to travel at faster than light for short distances measured in light years. The craft has been infused with a supply of MIDAS (Multi Intelligent Deoxonuclei Application System), a system originally intended for terraforming before being retrofitted as a possible bioweapon and manufacturing revolution, with samples taken from Myld's MIDAS infected body. This allows the craft to repair itself using materials from the environment and the ability to switch between 5 possible forms.

The Auhre Engine has been configured to produce hard light legs that can run up to speeds of 40-50MPH, with the upper 2 engines reconfigured to produce a set of tail feathers that allow for responsive rudder control and quick direction changes at high speeds, allowing the craft to deftly kick at a moments notice. The main pilot controls these movement systems whilst the secondary pilot focuses on weapon systems and navigation

The main engine now rests at the rear of the vehicle where it can either give a speed boost in it's horizontal state to temporarily push the maximum running speed to near 70MPH or it can work in tandem with the secondary VTOL intake engine to allow the vehicle to jump great heights, using the resulting momentum to lodge it's 4 clawed toes into steep or uneven surfaces for balance if required.

The sacrifice to this rapid, versatile movement is power, since the engines have to divert most of it to ensure the legs and rudder can maintain their structural integrity, less it runs short of fuel which would leave the vehicle unable to move without a fuel source or a injection of raw materials for the MIDAS hull to consume and convert.

That being said, Roadrunner is not defenseless; 2 of the photonic cannons are still active on the vehicles "head" albeit with reduced punch. But it has a new trick in the form of the Geox Drill, which can be charged and used as a retractable lance in close quarters for impaling targets or breaking through thick, reinforced walls, doors and hulls. The main VTOL intake engine at the back of the head can be used to rapidly thrust and "peck" at a target, using the legs to pin them down.

A unintended side effect of the MIDAS infusion has caused a mutation of the Fledgling Unit that makes it take on the form it's spawned from, mimicking it's parents movements and attack patterns.

LHU-003 Mode 02: Armadillo
This mode is designed purely for open, large terrain with a high focus on offense and defense. The Light Hawk gains multi plated armor as it forms a hardened carapace resembling that of an Armadillo, with 4 ATV treads created from hard light that can dynamically shift between wheels or more conventional treads to cross through troublesome terrain. The Auhre Engine is now embossed deep inside the vehicle where it produces the arsenal for the more powerful weapon systems in tandem with the Photonic Reactor. 

Although slower than the other modes. Armadillo can split it's ATV treads to rotate fully around the main frame following a guide-rail, with 4 VTOL-accelerated engines created by MIDAS to rapidly allow the vehicle to spin on the spot for faster direction shifting. The armor plating can expand and compress to allow the cockpit to be embedded inside for extra protection. In emergencies the entire vehicle can "turtle" itself to protect it's pilots and shift into a large ball that rolls around the cockpit for faster movement at the cost of control and crushing anything in it's path.

The primary weapons are the M-105 Folivora Launchers that can punch clean through most forms of reinforced armor with it's ace in the hole being the Xenarth Cannon: A magnetically accelerated launcher capable of Mach 8 speeds for it's projectiles, calculated by Eddy and Gulf to be fast and strong enough to blow away a RAVEN Suit and anything else in the way with one shot, but it requires Myld to use the RAVEN Suit and his internal Fragment to fire due to it's power drain, threatening his life with overuse and locking down the vehicle to stabilize for each shot due to the sheer force of kinetic energy it produces and recovering afterwards. Twin Photonic Blasters are kept at the front as "pea-shooters" 

The Fledging unit's are small and fast enough to roll around and ram threats to the vehicle, capable of attaching to a target before self-destructing.

In this configuration the Light Hawk is densely compacted and reinforced, leaving little room for heavy weapon systems beyond the basics. The hull is designed to withstand depths of over 12,000 fathoms deep, enough to reach the deepest ocean floors of Aokushun and even the ruins of Bathys with little issue, alongside any molten liquids such as acids, metals or rock for a short duration until convection reaches and cooks the internals of the vehicle.

The Auhre Engine has been encased and pushed into the vehicle's depths, using it's hard light functions to generate a silent jet propulsion system to push through the depths without setting off any form of sonar. Material surfaces internally are reinforced with multiple layers of acrylic to help better withstand the crushing depths. Sonar is equipped with secondary reinforced camera's and lights to help better navigate in deeper depths where light cannot reach. 

Weapon wise the Orca mode only features 2 methods of defense: Photonic Twin Blasters which are slightly less powerful and sluggish than those on land or air due to the weight of water causing extra drag on the beams alongside the Chinook Torpedoes fired just above the camera eyes, capable of punching through thick hulls, rocks or shells of any hostile sea life encountered (Although Skye thinks it gives the Orca a eyeless look, Gulf insisted on it in the hopes it triggers a survival instinct to scare off sea predators)

The Fledgling Unit is unique to this mode in that the Orcinus Pods cannot operate independently from the main vehicle, instead it was configured to act as pilotable sub units fired from the main vehicle to be remotely controlled by a second pilot for short range or driven directly. These are more intended as emergency escape pods to quickly escape the main vehicle.

# LHU-003 Mode 0: Light Hawk The latest iteration of the Light Hawk Unit's signature vessel, created as the apex of aeronautical and photonic engineering between Eddy Dvorak and Gulf Auhre as a refinement of the previous incarnations. Thanks to research into the Aion Fragments that are the true power source behind RAVEN and the thing currently keeping Myld Malestorm alive, the bulkier standard AFSF Engines have been removed in favor of the Auhre Engine V6, a singular engine capable of enough lift to escape a planets gravitational pull with full VTOL (Vertical Take Off & Landing) support using a series of fans that intake air above the craft and expel it below as the Auhre Engine can rotate 90 degrees on itself to achieve this effect. The wing span has been completely redesigned, allowing up to a maximum of 6 wings through the new hard light reactors that can take in multiple forms of radiation through it's front facing intake fans to excite the photons it accumulates to reshape into new hard light constructs, with the ability to rotate a full 360 degrees on a single axis. A Vector Trap is installed into the base of the hull as a experimental Tesseract upgrade that can store vastly more non-organic materials than the Industrial Grade units commonly used by the AFSF. Using this Vector Trap is the prototypical Dvorak Drive, a new engine that can pinpoint and compress 2 points in space using Tachyon Particles to connect the 2 points, allowing the engine to travel at faster than light for short distances measured in light years. The craft has been infused with a supply of MIDAS (Multi Intelligent Deoxonuclei Application System), a system originally intended for terraforming before being retrofitted as a possible bioweapon and manufacturing revolution, with samples taken from Myld's MIDAS infected body. This allows the craft to repair itself using materials from the environment and the ability to switch between 5 possible forms.

This mode is designed to navigate through tight enclosed spaces or across land terrain at a rapid pace. The Auhre Engine has been configured to produce hard light legs that can run up to speeds of 40-50MPH, with the upper 2 engines reconfigured to produce a set of tail feathers that allow for responsive rudder control and quick direction changes at high speeds, allowing the craft to deftly kick at a moments notice. The main pilot controls these movement systems whilst the secondary pilot focuses on weapon systems and navigation

The main engine now rests at the rear of the vehicle where it can either give a speed boost in it's horizontal state to temporarily push the maximum running speed to near 70MPH or it can work in tandem with the secondary VTOL intake engine to allow the vehicle to jump great heights, using the resulting momentum to lodge it's 4 clawed toes into steep or uneven surfaces for balance if required.

The sacrifice to this rapid, versatile movement is power, since the engines have to divert most of it to ensure the legs and rudder can maintain their structural integrity, less it runs short of fuel which would leave the vehicle unable to move without a fuel source or a injection of raw materials for the MIDAS hull to consume and convert.

That being said, Roadrunner is not defenseless; 2 of the photonic cannons are still active on the vehicles "head" albeit with reduced punch. But it has a new trick in the form of the Geox Drill, which can be charged and used as a retractable lance in close quarters for impaling targets or breaking through thick, reinforced walls, doors and hulls. The main VTOL intake engine at the back of the head can be used to rapidly thrust and "peck" at a target, using the legs to pin them down.

A unintended side effect of the MIDAS infusion has caused a mutation of the Fledgling Unit that makes it take on the form it's spawned from, mimicking it's parents movements and attack patterns.

This mode is designed purely for open, large terrain with a high focus on offense and defense. The Light Hawk gains multi plated armor as it forms a hardened carapace resembling that of an Armadillo, with 4 ATV treads created from hard light that can dynamically shift between wheels or more conventional treads to cross through troublesome terrain. The Auhre Engine is now embossed deep inside the vehicle where it produces the arsenal for the more powerful weapon systems in tandem with the Photonic Reactor. 

Although slower than the other modes. Armadillo can split it's ATV treads to rotate fully around the main frame following a guide-rail, with 4 VTOL-accelerated engines created by MIDAS to rapidly allow the vehicle to spin on the spot for faster direction shifting. The armor plating can expand and compress to allow the cockpit to be embedded inside for extra protection. In emergencies the entire vehicle can "turtle" itself to protect it's pilots and shift into a large ball that rolls around the cockpit for faster movement at the cost of control and crushing anything in it's path.

The primary weapons are the M-105 Folivora Launchers that can punch clean through most forms of reinforced armor with it's ace in the hole being the Xenarth Cannon: A magnetically accelerated launcher capable of Mach 8 speeds for it's projectiles, calculated by Eddy and Gulf to be fast and strong enough to blow away a RAVEN Suit and anything else in the way with one shot, but it requires Myld to use the RAVEN Suit and his internal Fragment to fire due to it's power drain, threatening his life with overuse and locking down the vehicle to stabilize for each shot due to the sheer force of kinetic energy it produces and recovering afterwards. Twin Photonic Blasters are kept at the front as "pea-shooters" 

The Fledging unit's are small and fast enough to roll around and ram threats to the vehicle, capable of attaching to a target before self-destructing.

In this configuration the Light Hawk is densely compacted and reinforced, leaving little room for heavy weapon systems beyond the basics. The hull is designed to withstand depths of over 12,000 fathoms deep, enough to reach the deepest ocean floors of Aokushun and even the ruins of Bathys with little issue, alongside any molten liquids such as acids, metals or rock for a short duration until convection reaches and cooks the internals of the vehicle.

The Auhre Engine has been encased and pushed into the vehicle's depths, using it's hard light functions to generate a silent jet propulsion system to push through the depths without setting off any form of sonar. Material surfaces internally are reinforced with multiple layers of acrylic to help better withstand the crushing depths. Sonar is equipped with secondary reinforced camera's and lights to help better navigate in deeper depths where light cannot reach. 

Weapon wise the Orca mode only features 2 methods of defense: Photonic Twin Blasters which are slightly less powerful and sluggish than those on land or air due to the weight of water causing extra drag on the beams alongside the Chinook Torpedoes fired just above the camera eyes, capable of punching through thick hulls, rocks or shells of any hostile sea life encountered (Although Skye thinks it gives the Orca a eyeless look, Gulf insisted on it in the hopes it triggers a survival instinct to scare off sea predators)

The Fledgling Unit is unique to this mode in that the Orcinus Pods cannot operate independently from the main vehicle, instead it was configured to act as pilotable sub units fired from the main vehicle to be remotely controlled by a second pilot for short range or driven directly. These are more intended as emergency escape pods to quickly escape the main vehicle.

I remember reading somewhere Nintendo wanted at least 3 million consoles sold in Japan before they would release the DD. But by that milestone it was already too late due to the N64's lack of popularity against the PS1/Saturn there and most developers either moving to cart or the next gen systems.

She's not got much family left and seeing her in this state is heartbreaking. Last week she got the all clear from the PET scan and now this and the sudden 180 is hard to stomach.

I'm gonna need energy: The elderly neighbor of mine I've been looking after for years was taken back into hospital after she suddenly collapsed unable to walk: She has Lymphoma in her brain and spine.

I'm doing what I can to support her and doctor's are making a plan, but I feel this might be it.

And each version has it's own levels of fucked:
PS2: Long load times unless it's version 2 due to a dummied out minigame and relying on PS2 CD
GC: Constant performance drops below 30, almost into the teens
Xbox: Audio cannot be paused or muted once running, not even by pausing the game itself.

The ROM header is also missing data that, whilst not stopping it from working on real hardware, will mess with hardware clones or emulators if it's dumped since the header is used to determine the save type and how big it should be.

There are patches to fix the ROM to make it universal/correct.

So everything has to be minimized and simplified to make it work entirely within RAM. If it was 4 carts this issue wouldn't be a thing.

The GBA cart release by LRG are also super poor quality, from factory recycled chips and shotgun patching the save type to SRAM since they couldn't get EEPROM's

Quick few notes:
- The "Original" mode is just the GBA ROM running in an emulator.
- The battle mode being so basic is a GBA limitation: It's because it was designed to be a single pak multi-title: One cart with up to 4 GBA's. The cart would send a 128K RAM bianry to the connected units.

Dolphin's rapid development VS PCSX2's slower development path absolutely played a factor in accessibility, coupled with both the Wii and Wii U having a way of running GC with little difficulty.

Compare both of them to Dreamcast and Original Xbox emulation: which took far longer to mature fully.

Wii homebrew was mostly just copy/paste files to an SD card, chuck CIOS on with BootMii/Priiloader and you were ready to go. Pre Nintendont/Devolution/DIOS MIOS GameCube support required intalling a custom MIOS with Crediars backup launcher to run a GameCube disc, either genuine or burned to DVD.

the Stop 'N Swop content is also in the N64 version, just instead of it being given to you at the start, it's hidden around Spiral Mountain and Jinjo Village.

Xbox has smoother performance and better controls, but some parts will be harder and de-sync'd because they were made with slowdown in mind.

The Dreamcast version has more wiggle room in terms of space and modding potential. There's a massive QOL mod in development that brings over most of the GameCube changes, based on the PAL version with proper 60Hz RGB & VGA support, which should become the "definitive" version when it's done.
