Our analysis of the full Joint Committee on Taxation tables of the flawed GOP megabill: a $1T tax cut for the top 1% and a staggering $2.4T tax cut for the top 10%.
Tax cuts of around $500B for households in the bottom 60%--the very folks who also face the brunt of cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.
An instant post about that Japan deal. It's basically a joke

Have you heard the good news?
A forthcoming conference will launch the The Association of Law and Political Economy: a membership organization with a regular annual conference, elected leadership, and an architecture for open participation and collaboration.
We are excited to launch a project to remake federal tax administration. Effective tax administration is critical to the federal government, but has recently faced drastic challenges over the last six months.

To say nothing to the damage to US standing in the world, international relations, and future partnerships... as well as the students themselves!
The thing that is particularly noteworthy here - to me at least - is that effective tax rates (i.e. what's actually paid) have *increased* recently. This aligns with OECD data (which uses a different methodology). It might be the first time in 40 or 50 years that such a broad increase has happened.
