I say "brief guide" but, you know, I'm me.

I love that the crocodile in the old Peter Pan cartoon regularly breaks the fourth wall. It has a very wink-wink-nudge-nudge presence I clearly didn’t appreciate as a kid.

Heya folks, I got a bunch of bills paid but some credit card payments and old vet and medical bills drafted so I'm still behind on my car insurance and I'm just about out of food for me and the cats. Anything helps, please share and help if you can, I love you

This was a good choice.

I wish Children’s Hospital wasn’t such a goddamn hike from my house but I would rather pick up 3’s seizures meds directly and avoid hijinks so a-hiking I will go. (Not a literal hike; I trust people driving Penn Avenue about as much as I trust my ability to eat lead and shit out gold).

If there’s a primary, core reason for my (and many others’, I imagine) plummeting mental health in the past 5 years, this is it.

It haunts me. It enrages me. It frightens me.

Also, in the spirit of being fully honest with myself:

This is mostly because lifting heavy circles makes happy chemicals happen but I have a 20th class reunion next year and want to look like I could fight a god.

(And also to keep the eye candy for my wife status fresh so I don’t age like milk.)

For reference: this is an upgrade from 22.5lb dumbbells to 30lb ones. Gauging how this goes and then I’ll either continue or drop down to 25lbs. So far, so good.

Upgrading to 30lb dumbbells today. Reminding myself to take it easy and not fuck myself up.

Sure, my head is killing me and I had lousy sleep last night, but I also started my day with a Halloween music dance party with 7 and 3.

Nothing in the universe can beat that boost to my mood.

Going from 70 degree weather to 40 degree weather did some super cool alchemy in which my sinuses transmuted into solid goddamn concrete.

Black tutu. Black. Not blank. Having to babysit what this damn phone changes things to well after they’re typed is not a feature I enjoy.

Added wrinkle: my wife left a note asking if they had the rest of the package (a blank tutu for 14’s Halloween costume).

They kept that part apparently, but returned it upon seeing the note.

What the fuck.

Earning certain Mega Stones only through ranked online battles is such horseshit.

An Amazon package for my neighbor ended up here, so I dropped it off and tried finding out if they got the package destined for my house. No answer.

Guess how I found out they got it?

Surprise.

My wife spotted it in their trash can today.

People are so fucking horrid. Absolutely seething.

Work travel followed by personal travel followed by a chaotic week at work followed by yet more work travel has me EXHAUSTED.

I’m just an eepy sleepy little goofball who is one needlessly circled back to items in a parking lot day away from a grippy sock vacay.

Thanks! I’ll share some of the moments after the fact. I’m running it from a hotel room on a work trip because I’m tired of canceling fun things for the sake of corporate things, and suspect it’ll be a much-needed balm.

Running a post-Halloween-but-still-Spooky-Season one-shot of #ScumAndVillainy for some of my absolute favorite TTRPG pals this upcoming Monday and I am so fucking giddy about it.

It’s gonna have horror. It’s gonna have hijinks. It’s all of my favorite things in a one-shot.

People who need things like SNAP benefits end up needing them for a myriad of reasons and assuming they’re just jobless drains on a system designed to fuck the poor and please the ultra-wealthy is some truly head-ass guzzling the KoolAid thinking.

If you are faced with the choice of belittling people for needing assistance in covering basic expenses or questioning the system that has made it necessary for people to need assistance covering basic expenses and you choose the former?

Spite-drinking. I am shocked by how much I do not like the Raspberry Cream Ghost energy drinks.

Also: OG tastes like battery acid (yes, I know what it tastes like, no I will not expound on that) in a good way? It’s citrus with a little extra that just works. Or my standards have dropped a lot.
