what complicates things is that like, I ask myself often, "would I even be able to pursue this if I didn't have passing privilege?"

it's a question that fills me with survivor's guilt

the 'learn how to be a GIRL' pipeline many dolls preach & practice... NGL it has its problems, it also has a very like, a transparent holistic positive feedback loop

"take care of yourself/appearance > better self esteem > cis ppl treat you more like the way I envisoned being treated > repeate"

the only community i've seen championing (or bullying?) other girls on how to integrate are the dolls, and the nightlife girlies

it's been a piece of the puzzle that I've been missing for such a long time

it's left me at a point where I'm 9 years in and still feels echos of 'early transition', which is deeply aggravating! I really didn't wanna be this deep & still feel so clueless

learning all the ways patriarchy & capitalism & colonialism distort gender & identity for us all, yes it's deeply important to me to learn these things

but these world views just didn't teach me the ropes in understanding how to interact with the world and the average person

as liberating as progressive discourses around gender identity has been for me (i.e. "you're a woman/man/whatever if you identify as such")

it unfortunately didn't provide many tools to socially integrate into the outside world
