Hello #crochet Bluesky/ #crochetsky - I really enjoy watching a whole bunch of crochet YouTubers already, but if you have any recommendations I'd love to hear them. I'm old now and more into comfy/cosy than high adrenaline vlogging 😊

It's usually a bit of a John Carpenter-fest for me. It has to include Prince of Darkness, Halloween (obvs) and The Fog. (I watch The Thing on NYE.) I like to rewatch the Mike Flanagan Hill House series. Also gotta do Hocus Pocus. There are usually a few ghost story events/shows here and there too.

Big, sad feelings today. Feelings that I suspect can only be mitigated by a large pasta dinner, a Hammer Horror session, and crochet.

I work full time but I also have a biz on the side. I'm waiting to see if a whopping contract will come in any day now. If it does, I can book myself onto some excellent training, buy a fancy yarn advent calendar, and possibly go to Edinburgh for Christmas. 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻

Olaus Magnus's 1539 map of Scandinavia is full of the wonderful and the plain weird. Sea monsters and maelstroms attack ships while on land people travel in reindeer-drawn carriages and fish through the ice. The map was the first to accurately depict land and give place-names. @bodleian.ox.ac.uk
