I'm furious that the world no longer has access to the U.S. National Climate Assessment. I was a contributor to the 4th Assessment, watched the hard work of my White House colleague roll out the 5th, and I was the lead author of the Mitigation Chapter for the 6th Assessment before they dismissed us.

This is so sad. Among the many important fields impacted, they are eliminating Portuguese at the BA, MA, and PhD levels. Latin American Studies BA also gone.

What we should really be talking about is how the steady warming of the planet--which will continue until carbon emissions cease--is leading to increasingly dangerous, damaging & deadly heat and weather extremes. That's where my messaging is focused right now.
