Not a quote, but this. All the time thinking this.

The Stratford high school marching band was our morning escort for Walk to School Day! If only every day we were this aware that walking is awesome. @walkbikenashville.bsky.social

Instead of taking seriously the 3m workers who won’t get paid starting tomorrow & the people whose life saving benefits won’t show up, let’s create fake videos mocking people who we don’t like just like bored, bully preteens would do.
That will definitely prove we care.
We were through there in July and it was really wild to see. I don’t think the photos can really explain just how much of the road is gone and how it feels like such a failure of infrastructure - it just goes on and on and on.

Idk, my definition of “catastrophic flooding” includes loss of life and significant structural damages. Curious what’s easy about that clean up…

I would like to officially lodge my complaints with whoever or whatever put me on this timeline or in the Bad Place or whatever this is.
Our paint is also partly in house now. Time is also zero sum.
28.09.2025 13:20 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The plan is good, cheap, required a lot of neighborhood buy in…and has sat on a shelf for over a decade…
28.09.2025 04:06 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0It bothers me because I hear over & over how there is no money for really inexpensive, important, known fixes. These signs aren’t free, & if I’m told a crosswalk can’t be painted but these can be magically printed & installed, it really gets my goat. Government is zero sum, and has to be picky.
28.09.2025 04:05 — 👍 13 🔁 1 💬 2 📌 0There is a 10+ year old safety plan the city & BHN worked hard on for Belmont. Pedestrians cross where they cross because the safety plan was never implemented & the number of crosswalks don’t meet the demand needs. Legal zigzag car crossings are the real (documented) safety problem on Belmont.

28.09.2025 02:40 — 👍 112 🔁 2 💬 6 📌 0Well, umm, no garage but have a minivan with a spot to set a mug. In all my years, I’ve only ever lost 1 to the floorboard & 1 to my shirt.
My 1st car was a ‘75 240D with a giant steering wheel & no cup holder. I’d get Route 44s & use the steering wheel as a cup holder. I guess I’ve had practice. 😆
Ha - I’m a leave-the-house-with-a-mug kinda gal, so this really gets to the heart of my question, which is does a mug work in a shower? Because, honestly, some metallicy traveler is not worth it…

I don’t have all the numbers, but I think the math only maths if they really turn out Nashville. Flips won’t get the W. (But they of course shouldn’t ignore outside of Nashville - doing so would be wrong/unkind.)

Where did you go to one?
You will have to choose between a R or D ballot. Your suggestion is something people try to do - and reasonable people, I think, can take different positions! (Some folks will really hate that I said that.) Here, though, the Rs I think are all very maga so don’t know what that choice would be?
