Just so we're all clear, shutting down the federal government was their goal. The GOP wants to replace democracy with some form of authoritarianism and getting rid of the federal government is a critical step towards that goal. They're going to do everything they can to never let it open ever again.

Executive dysfunction=You want to do the task, and intend to at that very moment.
