I shouldn't be but I'm still kind of shocked that the Labour party has ended up in this position. I'm really hoping there's a massive rebellion and change of course but not counting on it

He/him. UK. I post trite opinions on global events. Big fan of freedom.

18.11.2025 20:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just ignores the clear evidence all around us.
This is a man who has attacked immigrants for decades and said:
"Any normal and fair-minded person would have a perfect right to be concerned if a group of Romanian people suddenly moved in next door."
Like come on! Be serious.
The think that strikes me about this article isn't the repeated examples of Farage's racism, it's the way that his blatant racism is positioned as unknowable and subjective.
www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-...
The racists at my school did and the non-racists didn't. Although the racists didn't have complete supremacy like they must've at Dulwich.
There's a lot of character already defined by the time you hit your teens though
Labour would be able to go on the attack against Farage over his lifelong racism if it weren't for the fact that they are currently being pretty racist*
*with the exception of the MPs who have called them out, but let's see votes match rhetoric
Bombing Polish railways is yet another provocation by Russia. Without a response they will do more
18.11.2025 13:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fair point, I don't know what claims your original post was referring to. It makes it worse for me though (reading the forewords on top of the policy details I'd already read).
18.11.2025 12:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There is going to be a line for all Labour voters, it's just a question of where you draw it. I know I was one.
Maybe the line isn't Palestinians or trans people or disabled people or refugees.
But there will be a line somewhere before the next election so how about sending them that message now?
If blue Labour cannot be purged from within then voters will just have to purge them from without
18.11.2025 00:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've read it. It makes it worse. Not only are the same policy details there, it's wrapped in language from Starmer and Mahmood about safe country.
It's also written around several blatant lies, including "We have become the destination of choice in Europe"
5th overall, 17th per head. Disgusting.
By credible did you mean abhorrent?
17.11.2025 23:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What we should do as a society is listen to the people with personality disorders about interpersonal relationships. What could go wrong?
17.11.2025 23:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hate that she dares to try to speak for all of us with such a twisted argument.
17.11.2025 23:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What she's selling is white supremacy. The idea that if the 'true' citizens are upset, as evidenced by abuse towards her, then she has moral duty to join them and put a stop to the things they dislike.
(That this isn't even a majority opinion doesn't matter. See The march on Rome etc.)
Data point for leadership - former member and lifelong voter planning to not vote Labour in the foreseeable future. It's fine though because the party is currently polling so well right?
P.S. I appreciate your defense of Labour values though
McSweeney believes the grid is a strategy to bury good news for some reason though. Also this government needs to go
17.11.2025 22:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mike Tapp is a Tory pretending to be Labour. Even his necktie. But mostly his politics
17.11.2025 22:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you for standing up for what is right
17.11.2025 22:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Trans people. Palestinians. Low-income families. People on PIP. Asylum seekers. Refugees. The rot has set in and it needs to be excised not excused.
17.11.2025 22:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm just so angry. I know you could say that about so many things. But still.
The people these bastards demonise are not their media assigned identities.
They're people. With rights, dreams, fears, affections, hobbies and families.
Every one as valid as any other. Nativists are WRONG.
Victims should join their bullies is not the winning argument she thinks it is.
17.11.2025 22:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Guess what. You don't get to speak for minorities while attacking them.
It's a transparent fig leaf.
Anti-racism is not donning a cape and addressing the 'legitimate concerns' of bigots in order to defang an issue. Which doesn't work anyway.
Moral capitulation.
I for one will enjoy the PLP slapping the government out of their current delusion. And watching the Greens demolish Labour majorities in May. And Starmer's eviction. This kind of delusion meets gravity eventually and they can't say they weren't warned
17.11.2025 22:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't understand why Labour strategists don't understand the strength of feeling they are up against. Who do they talk to?
You've managed to unite the country (for different reasons) in opposing you. Well done.
I tried my best with excuses for so so many things but ran out a while back
Weak and transparent argument
17.11.2025 21:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bring back the golden rule.
And thank you Nadia Whittome. Their double-speak cannot change reality and do NOT unite the country. I will never support these policies.
What possible justification is there to confiscate jewellery from refugees? Abhorrent exploitation of vulnerable people.
And using AI to decide how old people are based on their faces - great idea you morons. Because facial recognition famously has no issues with bias...
Labour MP Brian Leishman: "The Government has surrendered to... the vile rhetoric of Reform. Does the Home Secretary not see that removing the legal obligation to support asylum seekers who will be otherwise destitute, is as far away from Labour Party principles and values as we can get?"
17.11.2025 20:23 β π 1538 π 401 π¬ 37 π 30Starmerβs anti-asylum policies show how utterly clueless he is about the right-wing mediaβs role in politics.
Heβs trying to fix a βproblemβ contrived by Farage, GB News and The Telegraph. Heβll never win, because ultimately heβs fighting a ghost β heβs fighting something that doesnβt really exist
It's still MTG. She might now have decided to speak 'kindly' but she'll be doing so in support of cruel policies. Oh and she's insane and clearly on manoeuvre too
The same person who said Nancy Pelosi was guilty of treason and treason is punishable by death has not had a damascene conversion!
