The number one tip for hiring an editor—shop around. Do price comparisons, look at portfolios and testimonials, and (most importantly) get sample edits. The sample is good for you and the editor—you can both evaluate whether their style is the right fit for your project.

Sometimes, editing is knowing when to look something up. Use the resources available to you! It's okay to not have Merriam-Webster and the Chicago Manual of Style memorized.

Up until this point, I’m not getting any inkling of tension between the MCs. I get that it’s a slow burn (which we all know is not the style of Lindsey WHY NO BONING YET Hinkel), but can there be at least a hint of some attraction from one or both of them?

Tip Tuesday – Be gentle with yourself. If you're like me, you might forget to take care of yourself when you're in the zone. Hit pause. Go for a walk, eat a snack, do yoga, whatever feels good to you. You just might feel better after.
