The people claiming Taylor is a right wing trad wife obviously haven’t listened to her album release interviews in which she consistently shuts down men trying to make the entire conversation about her wedding. She goes back to the art and unapologetically changes the conversation.

Just a few weeks ago that creep involved in a legal battle with Blake sent someone to serve Taylor court papers in KC (in a case she has no involvement in) and they jumped the fence and broke into the home. They’re desperate and it shows. Don’t be desperate with them.

She’s helped people in times of need, she’s been deep in Tumblr comments giving advice. She cares a lot about being a positive force in the world. She won’t let anything come between her and the fans. “They” haven’t been able to shake her and it makes them angry.

It’s very obvious to me what’s going on online. They would love to penetrate her fan base. But the thing is, we’ve been riding with her for decades at this point. She’s met us, invited us into her home, shared her personal diary entries with us, been more “real” with us than most can say.

What IS real is that Taylor has affirmed my thoughts, feelings, and emotions as a woman growing up in this world. She has made me feel understood and seen when the rest of the planet just wants us to be quiet and uncertain. A woman empowering women is dangerous for fascism and the patriarchy.

If you can’t see the coordinated smear campaign that begins with just one person being hyped up by bots and rising in the algorithm, you’re choosing to look past that.

The internet is not real, the likes and comments are not real, the real people elevating this discourse are misguided at best.

She doesn’t fit in a box like they’d like for her to. She’s shattering records only held by men prior. Sure, she’s not leading the leftist resistance movement or joining aid flotillas, but she’s empowering women and giving their internal monologue a voice.

She supports her friend and God children in the Reynolds/Lively family, despite the smear campaigns online. She stands up against men who do her wrong, even when they’re rich and powerful. She literally has a song on her new album emasculating the men who have taken advantage of her.

There are a lot of groups of people who would benefit from a takedown of Taylor Swift. She controls her label. She tells THEM when she’s releasing music. She took back her work and gave artists a voice that they otherwise didn’t have. She has directly encouraged her fans to vote blue.

The thing is you can’t win if you say you’re a fan of her, so we have all learned to pipe down and take it. Meanwhile these people are fans of way more problematic celebrities they aren’t forced to defend constantly online AND they won’t admit it but they’re really enjoying the misogyny stuff.

I don’t think we should hold a musician to a higher standard than elected officials, so I tend to focus my time and energy harassing people like my representatives who are making terrible decisions, especially the dem ones!! Try it sometime.

Whenever I see morons in my leftist spaces talking about a necklace in a merch shop I just want to scream “Congrats you fell for a right wing smear campaign against a vocally liberal artist”
