War drama directed by Michael Curtiz with a cast headlined by Bogie, Rains, Dorn, Morgan, Greenstreet, and Lorre.

Julie Kavner in Ella McCay

Just ran across the trailer for the new James L. Brooks film, Ella McCay. Pretty stacked cast.

But what caught my attention from the jump is Julie Kavner. Been so long since I’ve seen her on screen and it brought a smile. She’s wonderful.

An excellent Golden Age Superman by Dakota Alexander

Wasn’t able to see it in theaters due to surgery but have Shudder so I’ve been looking forward to it dropping there. Looks like a fun time.

Bad Guys 2 was not the first to do this. M3GAN 2.0 had a similar disclaimer. It’s going to be standard legal language attached to all media now.

Had this sitting in the saved library for a while. Seems like a good time for a first watch tonight.

If asked “Is the fortress in Superman practical or cgi”? I would have guessed a facade with cgi filling it out during post.

Not because of how it looked but based on modern expectations.

Nope. They built it inside and out. Love to see it and hoping others take note.

But what’s made this truly special is seeing all four showings with my son who’s eighteen and two of those were also with my daughter who’s twenty-two. Time spent bonding and sharing our love of stories.

Movies are beautiful. So is my family.
