My favourite film is Casablanca, and Unforgiven and Gladiator are right up there. But, since I can't see it mentioned so far, I'm going to go with this gem.

Watched it last night too. Fabulous interpretation of the book. The changes were perfect. My wife and I were saying that what we love about Del Toro is that, while his visuals are always sumptuous, they never overwhelm the themes and characterisation in his work.
