D&D is a great system. D&D is also a sloppily assembled, profit-chasing hack job. D&D is also a lot in-between those two extremes. Really boils down to which edition you find... ๐

Loveable eldritch being, fairly shameless, but tries to be kind and nice to people.

05.11.2025 03:23 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It is! I prefer Mage, personally, in WoD, for the flexible magic system (not seen a better one anywhere), but Vampire's great, too.
Just, uh, if you use the V5 rules, you might want to patch in earlier feeding rules; I'm given to understand that one drains play time a lot, with no real benefit...
Perhaps someone should go out and check on Thatcher's grave, y'know, just in case?
04.11.2025 16:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A friend of mine can't tell a pet from a feral animal.
He's completely collarblind.
It would be nice to have video footage of the moment when the penny drops...

04.11.2025 04:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My Pathfinder 1e group is upset at me now, because the animated skeleton NPC I introduced in session 1, who's been tagging along since, turned out to be a 20th-level sorcerous lich in disguise.
Only took them 15 months and about 50 sessions to accidentally discover. THERE WERE CLUES! ๐
...Is this what they mean by a "First Past The Post" election?
03.11.2025 18:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Pigs, yes. Boars, the feral kind, tend to be more on the mindless rampage side of things as soon as they feel pain or threat...
Boars tend to be somewhat tougher than these guys, though...
Nah, he's got the right of it - act like a feral boar in public, you become the Sunday roast.

This'll get interesting. Not in any way good, but interesting...
Pathfinder game today just finished.
After 15 months, they accidentally figured out that Rattles, the skeleton that has tagged along since session one, is actually the lich emperor in disguise. ๐คฃ
15 months of me waiting for them to suspect something, only to be met with surprised faces all around.
If you come across this post, post your sona NOT smiling.
29.10.2025 15:19 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'd make the argument that if the SoMe account is later deleted for unrelated reasons, like scrubbing your online existence, it's fair, but if the post was made on a throwaway account and, well, thrown away, that's in bad faith.
You rarely want to erase your whole account, after all.
Why'd my beard suddenly get grayer?

Ah, that'd do it...

24.10.2025 16:26 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Indeed - and again, a blood test would be more reliable than what the official records say. Both regarding geographic heritage *and* actual genetic markers.
21.10.2025 17:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I mean, there are ailments with a significantly higher occurence in populations from specific areas, for example sickle cell anemia in West Africa, unless I misremember, but checking for such would presumably be vastly more accurate with a blood test than a map for the patient to fill in...

20.10.2025 15:29 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Just picked up my new Blu-Ray burner...
Noticed a couple of weird things about it:
1. Why would someone getting a Blu-Ray burner want free web storage included?
2. You'd think that with a vertical stand, it'd have some way of keeping discs from *falling out* from a vertical position...
...probably not in and of itself.
I think I'd go with GURPS or FATE for this one.
