A double Sondheim day for me yesterday: HERE WE ARE at the National (fascinating ideas, doesn't work as a whole) then THE FROGS at Southwark Playhouse (great songs but well choreographed, tedious scenes in Act 2). Both a bit of a slog in the end, as is this very delayed train back to Glasgow.

Great to see Scottish theatre so well-represented by the work and talent of so many wonderful freelance creatives. Disappointed that almost none of our producing theatres showed up.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

I went to my first #martynjoseph gig in my mid teens, at some point in the mid-1990s, at the Regent Centre, Christchurch, Dorset. 30 years later I'm still buying his albums and going to his tours. Last night in Glasgow he was on form as ever: stunning, purposeful song-writing, great performance.
