When it comes to the police/detective drama series that I'm watching at the moment, I'm definitely in my 'brooding, solitary, intellectual, softly-spoken widower' era.

An evening of Michael Kitchen in "Foyle's War" or Bertie Carvel in "Dalgleish". Perfection โค๏ธ

I think it's aged rather well considering the first series is nearly 23 years old!

There's an episode of 'Foyle's War', where Fox plays the son of a wealthy company owner. It ultimately turns out that not only is his character the murderer, but also a rapey, abusive and very passionate Nazi sympathiser.

I've always wanted to ask him what drew him to that part!

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty.
Lt. Col. Rogers, Field Artillery, distinguished himself in action while serving as commanding officer, 1st Battalion, during the defense of a forward fire support base. In the early morning hours, the fire support base was subjected to a concentrated bombardment of heavy mortar, rocket and rocket propelled grenade fire.
Simultaneously the position was struck by a human wave ground assault, led by sappers who breached the defensive barriers with bangalore torpedoes and penetrated the defensive perimeter. Lt. Col. Rogers with complete disregard for his safety moved through the hail of fragments from bursting enemy rounds to the embattled area. He aggressively rallied the dazed artillery crewmen to man their howitzers and he directed their

Not bad for a loco that spent many years hidden in a shed in the grounds of a convent in Hertfordshire!

Quite enjoying Brian and Maggie on Channel 4. I'm far from an expert on British politics in that era, so I can't comment on historical accuracy, but it's rather entertaining TV and I think Harriet Walters has got pretty close with Mrs Thatcher's voice. #BrianandMaggie

The BBC commentators were noting that Melania was wearing a hat, and now we see why. A clever use of a wide brim to prevent unwanted kisses on the cheek.

By 'device', they always just mean 'bomb' or 'explosive' don't they? Bomb squad called, everyone out of the building etc.

Why can't it ever be 'Hey, we found an original Enigma machine in the basement, no need for the bomb squad, anyone wanna come down and have a look at it cos it's really cool?!"
