Build a tunnel through the tectonically active Bering Fracture Zone between Russia and Alaska, noted for significant seismic activity. Yeah, Trump will actually think this is a good idea.

Trump's primary objective is to stop the war so that he can start establishing trade deals with Russia. As demonstrated by his previous preference for Ukraine to hand over whatever land Russia wants in exchange for a dodgy cease fire.

OK. You have 24 hours.

Right through the active Bering Fracture Zone, between the Pacific and North American tectonic plates. Unstable seismic area subject to earthquakes. What benefit would such a tunnel serve? Just another carrot dangled in front of Trump.

He completely ignores the contribution from UK NLAW, Ukrainian Stugna-P and Barakter. The Russians attacked at the end of winter relying on the roads for a swift advance. The Ukrainians hit the lead elements, blocking the roads and leaving the Russians stranded.

Orban is far right, corrupt and a Russian sympathiser. He and Trump have so much in common.

I am sure that if Russia invaded and occupied Alaska Trump would surrender and declare victory to both.

If only he had kept classified material is the toilet he would have been safe.

With the rapid unravelling of the Gaza 'deal' Trump is desperate to get promises from Putin on Ukraine.

While the US clearly doesn't give a damn about North Korean soldiers fighting in Eastern Europe or Russia's use of North Korean ballistic missiles.

And in retaliation China ceases export of rare earths to the US. Guess which country will suffer most.

What on Earth does Trump have to do with Ukraine's military strategy and plans? Well apart from not telling the US of intent.

I'm surprised that they still call it a special military operation.

Probably one of the more inane comments I have seen.

Interesting that Australia provided more M1A1 tanks to Ukraine than the US.

Phase 2. Hamas now control a large part of the Gaza strip.

Yep Europe stepped up. The US on the other hand enabled Russia while the world scratches its head over Trump's blustering promise to end the war within 24 hours of being elected.

Trump will disarm Hamas? How?

So the US has gone from ally to arms dealer.

Agreed, renewables can be a supplement. But last year we were hit with a 25% increase in the cost of power, compounding on previous high price rises as the penetration of renewables increased.

Last year California imported 30% of its power consumption from neighbouring States.

More like which country. The US still has cheap power and gas. For us, 25% power cost increase last year with retail costs rising as a function of the penetration of renewables. The environmental damage and the areas covered by wind and solar farms a source of massive concern.

Hydro is good for countries with plentiful water storage and dominates in some countries such as Norway. Not so much in other regions.

Wind and solar generation is outside human control, subject to the vagaries of the weather, seasons and rotation of Earth. You cannot rely on either. Batteries can best be described as ephemeral in both the draw down/storage ratio and operating life.

Basically an adaption on the WW2 Normandy landing where the Mulberry floating harbours were key to the ability to land huge quantities of men, equipment and logistic support.

Ukraine started using balloons last year. They provide a distraction for Russian sensors during drone swarm attacks and also use GPS and munitions to strike targets from high level. But a somewhat stately advance compared to drones.

I'd love to have some cheap green energy. Unfortunately power prices increase as a function of the penetration of renewables. You can have reasonably priced, reliable baseload power or you can have intermittent, unreliable and expensive wind and solar.

Actually cruise missiles or drones loaded with nuclear waste from Ukraine's storage facilities would be effective in making Moscow uninhabitable and a reasonable response to any use of tactical nukes by Russia.

A 200 to 1 exchange of prisoners seems reminiscent of Trump's concept of a cease fire based on Ukraine handing over a significant area of land that Russia hasn't been able to take by force.

13.10.2025 23:34 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

A cease fire with a 200 to 1 hostage/prisoner exchange including 200 terrorists. What a deal.
