One young staff member, who is a former participant, spoke beautifully about the importance of fully funding K-12 programs and about what it means to have grown into a leader, now giving back to the community, because of his participation in CFL afterschool.

Last Thursday morning, our staff delivered 796 paper petitions signed by parents, participants, teachers, and community members from the Sunset Park community urging Mayor Adams to increase funding for afterschool programs.
We must ensure that our city’s youth receive the ESSENTIAL programming they deserve! We are calling on Mayor Eric Adams to increase funding to afterschool programs this year.
