Some of Vonnegut, maybe? Breakfast of Champions could be called a folk art hit. Little drawings too.
Not exactly modern anymore, though.

Is that a new documentary, Eric? Where?

Hence my discomfort with fighting metaphors.
Did anyone else feel a shiver of unease when Carney said, โWe didnโt ask for this fight, but Canadians are always ready when someone else drops the glovesโ?
The appetite for combat metaphors clearly persists, and hockey-jock posturing is part of our culture, I guess.
But it feels childish to me.

โAmerican democracy began as a democracy of male property owners, including enslavers. Only gradually did white working-class males achieve the vote, and then Black men, and eventually women and Indigenous Americans.โ

Only 2 days left to join The Liberal Party if you want to vote in the leadership contest. Itโs free to join.
If you support another party, great. The point is, democracy. And it seems fragile, more of us need to be involved.

Went out for dinner tonight with a group of seven folks, and not a single person drank alcohol.
I'm glad I skipped it too- those fleeting 20 minutes of buzz are rarely worth the hours of feeling lousy afterward.
This is me, right now, feeling grateful.
Terrific artists doing a classic art-pop masterpiece live in the studio. The official video is also great.

It might look less obvious. More subtle.

Alcohol-free beer: I presumed that once my body fully realized that there is no booze in it, Iโd lose interest.
Instead, itโs the oppositeโmy bodyโs grateful Iโm taking care of it.
Turns out, I love beer for the taste, not the boozy buzz followed by dark sickly feelings. Who knew?
