That is interesting for sure. I bet there will be more overlap as we go along (there are a few you shared that are higher up my list)… guess that speaks to the volume of games and to the different consumers of their product. It’s a good thing.

I VAGUELY remember this game… I know it is on the Switch Online for the NES, so I might need to get reacquainted with this gem…

I could never get into Kid Icarus either.. the controls were fine, the games was just HARD (and still is today).

Back to the regularly scheduled program, number 20 of my #NESTop25 goes to #ChipNDale #RescueRangers. #Disney had a slew of #NES games from their syndicated TV shows, most of them pretty good… and this isn’t even the best one. This is a game I plan on sharing that’s “Nintendo Hard” since it was creative and fun to explore, but no idea what you were ever supposed to actually accomplish!

(There’s a version of this on the Wii I have and need to try.)

That’s rad about hand held gaming!… but really? I cringe every time Ice Climbers comes up… then again, maybe if I had the patience of a… saint, I would appreciate it more.

… a game I knew little about until I was older and have hated the few instances I’ve played is #IceClimbers. This games controls are so bad that it’s not worth playing. I’ve only played this on the NES Remix for the Wii U and Nintendo World Championship on the Switch, and that’s more than enough…

Toad is the man! I ALWAYS played him… except for 2-2, that was Peach. This shows up later in my list, and looking to see what else is higher on your list!

Numero 21 on the #NESTop25 is the OG #DonkeyKong. Bringing an arcade favorite to the home console is something that is still appreciated today. And though this game doesn’t have a lot of depth, it’s really blossomed into a fantastic franchise (Bananza anyone?)! #Nintendo #VideoGames

… I don’t remember that, though I remember buying it for myself… but yeah, passwords are insane FO SHO.

You’ll see this game later on my list, but this one, especially for the time, was nuts! I think I finally played it all the way through in high school (or later), and the content is kind of insane. Thank goodness progress would be saved… with a password?

#LifeForce (or “Salamander” in Japan) is the 22nd entry to my #NESTop25. Between me and my neighbors, we rented this game more times than any other… and being 8-10 years old, we never finished it, but boy did we try. Classic space shooter. I should try again now that I’m older… #Nintendo #VideoGames

Love the old school box art on these games. Someone vaguely describes the game, someone else draws it, and someone else approves it without even looking at it.

Thank goodness for the original, but thanks goodness for the evolution of the series!

The 23rd listing in my #NESTop25 goes to #BobbleBobble. This game was a lot of fun with two people and just kept going… and that was okay. Because it was about the journey, not the destination. The game mechanics were like Mario Bros (not SMB), but better. #Nintendo #VideoGames

There actually was a mode where you could build your own tracks in the game… ahead of its time.

I don’t want to talk much about this one as *spoiler* it shows up later in my list… I will say that I wish Nintendo did more with the franchise as the seeds were planted for success (I believe).

Number 24 of my #NESTop25 goes to a game I’m more excited about due to the characters than anything else, it is #TheSimpsons:#BartVsTheSpaceMutants. I never got very far in the game, but loved seeing the show in a video game for the first (but far from the last) time… #Nintendo #NES #VideoGames

Wow… missed opportunity for sure… that’s kinda Nintendo’s M.O. with gimmick peripherals, like the Mario Paint mouse, R.O.B., the SuperScope for the SNES, the Wii Fit Board, and the more recent Labo and fit ring for the Switch…

… there had to be another zapper game, right?

This would have made my Top 40.

I always liked the clay pigeons mode… and only recently learned you could control the ducks with the second played controller.

And the fact that there’s an amiibo for this game speaks to this legend!

Without further ado, Number 25 of my #NESTop25 goes to #MetalStorm. This game of switching gravity while shooting baddies is memorable for its different and fun mechanics/gameplay. The timing of the release (near the end of the #NES lifecycle) didn’t help its popularity… #Nintendo #VideoGames

Even though I meet the majority of the criteria, and I have child of my own, I still don’t feel like an adult… I wonder if I ever will…
