Many with religious trauma struggle to be proud of themselves and celebrate their successes because pride was always negative and something to feel guilty about. Self esteem is seen as selfish.

Healing is learning to celebrate yourself and accept that you are worthy of compliments.

Sacred spaces can cause trauma both by their words and actions, AND by their silence and compliance with systems of injustice and oppression.

Two great tools to learn about that can be used to support those who are working to understand and improve their mental health is the Internal Family System Model by Dr. Richard Schwartz and the Enneagram. These resource can help you get started!
