Last Saturday, we opened our doors to the public once again for Doors Open Day.

Visitors were invited to take part in lab tours, a specialist talk and our science marketplace, exhibiting research from across our Institute and the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

Public engagement alongside research: I shared my experience with @wellcometrust.bsky.social Translational Neuroscience PhD students about the different platforms and resources available. Sara from our @edinuni-irr.bsky.social Engagement Team also shared the BioQuarter initiatives & opportunities!

What's the link between chicks, robots, space and brain research? We explored that with the public last weekend. Thank you @edinuni-irr.bsky.social for giving me the platform to talk about my work and the advances in neuroscience research at the Doors Open Day!

The children found our activities fun, easy to understand and creative! Thanks @ernscot.bsky.social for funding this, @edinuni-irr.bsky.social for giving me the space to deliver it at the Doors Open Day and for Michela and Kelly who helped me on the day!

Love comes in different textures and forms. Love can be silly, angry, funny, bold and simple. Love can be in flowers, colours, textiles, coins, yarn and silk. My wee ones and myself took all of that and made this over summer. They called it "Love is Love" and I quite like it!
