Robert Jenrick holds up a judges wig like a puppet during his speech to the Conservative Party Conference.

We have an independent judiciary in this country. Robert Jenrick wants puppet judges.

The Conservative Party once believed in the rule of law and our shared British values - no longer.

Staggeringly, Jenrick is a qualified solicitor.

And married to the daughter of Holocaust survivors…and we all know what happened to Jews (and dissidents) when Hitler turned the German judiciary into political puppets.

So shame SHAME on him.

EU threatens to kick out British second home owners British owners of holiday homes risk being thrown out of the European Union (EU) amid a border crackdown that comes into force this weekend.

Warning! This is from the Torygraph.
Seems they're not fans of the new Entry/Exit System or being forced to abide by EU rules, even ones they voted for.

Thanks to Trump’s tariffs on China, U.S. soybean farmers have lost their biggest customer and are grappling with higher prices for farming equipment.

Now, Trump has said he will bail out farmers β€” supposedly with the tariff revenue that caused the crisis to begin with.

Hello?

UK steel set for further hit as EU to double tariffs Losing access to the EU market, the largest destination for UK steel exports, would have a "catastrophic" impact on jobs, a key union said.

Is that another Brexit benefit?
No, quite the opposite.

I’m a career prosecutor who took a $25,000 check from an affiliated entity of Donald Trump’s while investigating Trump University and later left my lobbying firm to become Donald Trump’s personal impeachment lawyer, White House aide, and Attorney General. So don’t you DARE question my integrity.

And aside from the new (silly) πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Β£16 ETA charge they don’t even need a Visa to do it?

How cool is that?

Cold freshwater pouring off Greenland's melting ice cap and glaciers is messing with key ocean currents that help modulate the entire global climate ... Scientists say it's not a good thing.

I am curious how many Americans believe the Republicans' lies about electricity from solar and wind being more expensive than it is to buy and burn fossil fuels to produce it.

AI making energy cheaper is bollocks
YouTube video by Leon Simons AI making energy cheaper is bollocks

This 'AI making energy 100 times cheaper' statement by Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman to Trevor Noah on the What Now Podcast doesn't make any sense.

AI increases "energy" (electricity) demand, increasing electricity prices. Economics 101.

In September 2025, daily shipments of oil and refined products by Russian Railways fell to 2020 COVID-crisis levels, according to Istebin.ua. The collapse mirrors the 2020 plunge when oil output dropped from 10 to 8 million barrels/day. Some wells may have been shut down permanently.

There were rural communities before cars. My family has spent 5 generations in a VERY rural community -- it was once served by many different kinds of shops. When I was a kid, it was regularly served by a regional bus line.
Now everyone is FORCED to drive 60+ miles to shop.

Yesterday I said a society *requiring* you to own a car makes you less free than a society with options for biking, walking, & transit.
Lots of people have shouted at me that this could never work in rural areas, and that they have to drive long distances for everything.
YOU'RE MAKING MY POINT.
