THEY SMILE, WE SUFFER
How the dirty US-EU energy deal puts our lives at risk.
What just happened?
The EU promised to buy $750 billion worth of fossil fuels from the US over the next 3 years. That's roughly 3 TIMES more than at the moment.
They call it a trade deal. We call it a fossil trap.
Bad for the climate
US fossil gas is a climate disaster. Massive amounts of methane, a dangerous climate gas, leak during its production and transportation. This deal fuels the climate crisis and makes it impossible for Europe to hit its climate goals.
But this deal doesn't just accelerate the climate crisisβ¦
Bad for Americans
US gas is often fracked gas. This method poses huge risks for people living close to drilling sites, refineries and other fossil gas infrastructure. And it poisons air, land and water.
Bad for Europeans
This deal makes Europe more dependent on fossil fuels from the US. It leaves Europe vulnerable to an unpredictable President Trump. US liquefied fossil gas is expensive and leaves Europeans with high energy bills.
Bad for everyone
More oil and gas means stronger hurricanes, deadlier heatwaves, and worse floods. This deal accelerates climate chaos and we are paying the price for it.
Are you a fossil fuel CEO? Then congratulations! It's your lucky day!
For the rest of us? This US-EU trade deal won't get you anything but more climate chaos and dependence on Donald Trump.
But itβs not too late to fight back.

Sie meinen, dieses Abkommen koennte ein Beispiel dafuer sein, dass freier Handel unter Freunden funktioniert? Ist Milei also ein Freund? Aha. Eine faire und nachhaltige Partnerschaft zwischen der EU und Mercosur waere willkommen, dieses Handelsabkommen ist aber das genaue Gegenteil.

Hi, I totally agree that we need to reduce beef demand altogether. But the studies show that this trade agreement will lead to more demand for beef from Mercosur and at least 5% increase in deforestation rates there because of it. And studies predict it will lead to only a 0.1% GDP growth in the EU.
