Mountain view via math! Place random points and create Voronoi diagram and give each polygon the color of the underlying pixel at the centroid of the polygon via's @squeevey.bsky.social suggestion to an earlier post.

Ok. On the left is Voronoi polygons with avg color of the underlying image. On right, is my implementation of @squeevey.bsky.social's idea, take the color of polygon's centroid. Even more stained glass-y. I'll try reducing the palette another time. :-)

The transparency in the edges give a glow that is all the more special with the overlapping horizontal translation.

Wrote some code to check when Rule 6 starts repeating; luckily it takes a while, to Generation 1407 -- which then resets all the way back to Generation 1 in the next step! #grannylifecrochet
