I think it's important to note this is Hollywood, not comics. Jack Kirby was a jewish soldier who literally fought Nazis and made a point to show them as racist, anti-intellectual, and authoritarian (see also characters like the Hatemonger). Later characters like Darkseid also depict its mentality.
