On this day two years ago, one person was killed and 22 others were wounded—including at least eight children—in a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade. Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a beloved Kansas City-area DJ and radio show host, was killed.

Our kids should always be safe at school. We honor the victims and survivors today and every day by taking action to prevent future senseless tragedies.

It's been 8 years since the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. 17 lives were stolen by a gunman armed with an AR-15 rifle, leaving scars on the community and igniting a powerful youth-led movement for gun safety.

A ten-year-old is recovering in the hospital after being unintentionally shot by another ten-year-old. Every day, an unintentional shooting happens because a child gains access to a gun and shoots themselves or someone else.

Vigil honors mother killed in Chicago shooting as baby survives A vigil was held on Friday for a young mother who was shot and killed on Chicago’s South Side while her baby in the back seat.

My heart breaks for the family of Gabryel Ayres, who was shot and killed by a stray bullet while sitting in the car with her 14-month-old baby.

It’s unfathomable that her child will now have to grow up without their mother.
