A coalition of groups representing transit users, bus drivers, health advocates, climate justice activists, and cyclists and pedestrians is holding the first in-person Transit Equity Day in New Haven since 2020. WHAT: A day to celebrate safe, affordable, convenient mass transit for all. We are calling for meaningful new transit investments in Connecticut to improve road safety, reduce GHG emissions, support economic development, and increase access to educational opportunities and community resources. Amtrak set an all-time ridership record in FY 2024, carrying 32.8 million riders.

Of that, 43% was on Northeast Corridor routes; 44% was on state-supported routes; and 13% was on long-distance routes.

With Ridership Increasing, Connecticut Receives $291 Million For Rail Improvements The Federal Railroad Administration is awarding Connecticut about $291 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for five railroad improvement projects across the state, Gov. Ned Lamont and the Connecticut congressional delegation announced last week.

The numbers are in...the Amtrak Hartford Line set a new ridership record for FY '24 of 577,200 passengers vs. 439,000 in FY '23! Hopefully this growth will continue in the coming years.
