Ok. So. A lot of congress will say they “submitted a letter to forgo pay during shutdown.”

Congress is paid once a month so they have 30 days. Secondly, they want you to believe they are saying they will give up their pay. No. They just hold it until it reopens

DOJ has sued 8 states for refusing to turn over their full, unreacted voter files. My team has now filed motions to defend those states against this attack on federalism in 6 of those states: ME, MI, MN, NH, OR and PA.

I suggest that tomorrow DOJ monitor the docket in the remaining two: CA and NY.

How is this sustainable?

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

Lawrence: One of the examples you've put out is in Speaker Mike Johnson's Louisiana district, a 60 year old couple earning 82,000 a year. Their health care premiums will rise by almost $20,000 by 300% because of what their congressman is doing.

Just to note. January 23, 2019 there was a vote to reopen government (HJ RES 28, roll call vote 46) when the govt had been shut down for 30 days.

Mike Johnson voted “no” on that.

They didn’t seem to mind shutdowns then
