It's not hard to add "despite crime rates being down in the city".

Probability easier to park a boat than reverse a trailer though.

Things were always going to be bad but they are 100x worse because of how the democrats behaved in the transition period and his first 100 days.

When I was a kid, my brain couldn't understand jokes about VCR clocks flashing 12:00 forever. I hated it so much that I got good at figuring out how to set the clocks. If I went to a friend's/relatives house and it was flashing, I'd set it for them because how can you live like this?

@shaheen.senate.gov @hassan.senate.gov You should be ashamed that you're at the top of this list. I won't forget this come primary time, and it sure doesn't make me want to vote for another Shaheen in the House race.

It's also about not having to think about and plan stuff. I hate planning travel and think about costs along the way, and a cruise pretty much eliminates that element of things.

What's up with Justice Jackson? She started making her mark and speaking out early, and some of her dissents are so pointed Kagan and Sotomayor don’t even join them. The far right is out for her, and even Republican justices are getting snarky.

So what's up? Here’s my take 🧡

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I like the Knives Out movies and all, but if we're only gonna get one whodunnit with a quirky detective, I'd way rather it be this one.

They already rebooted Indiana Jones, except the screwed up and named it after the bad guy instead of the hero. I'll go to my grave insisting that The Mummy movies blew their shot to be an actually good franchise and make Brendan Fraser a modern Harrison Ford.

The bill hands ICE more funding than the Marines. They're building the first concentration camp in Florida, and they're going to keep going. Ayotte is going to welcome them here with open arms.

No on the bill is the only sane way to vote, but I never put it past NH Dems to vote with the GOP while saying they're fighting for their constituents and asking for donations.

If β€œcurrent policy” becomes the norm in reconciliation, one (very) hypothetical example of how Democrats could wield it: Pass a $10 trillion Medicare For All bill for 1 yr at a $1T sticker price & extend it permanently the next year at a $0 cost. All without nuking the filibuster.

It’s Not Just a Constitutional Crisis in the Trump Era. It’s Constitutional Failure | Washington Monthly While Trump defies constitutional norms, Congress remains conspicuously silent and the Supreme Court has abdicated its responsibility.

One of our most serious constitutional historians plausibly argues "the phrase constitutional crisis no longer describes our situation. The Constitution has failed, and we no longer know which institution will rescue it." Read this piece. washingtonmonthly.com/2025/06/27/i...

How the Senate GOP’s New Tax on Renewables Could β€˜Kill’ the Industry As bad as previous drafts of the reconciliation bill have been, this one is worse.

Republicans are now suddenly planning to TAX renewable energy, transforming the repeal of the IRA from a challenge to a full-blown crisis for American solar and wind.

I spent the last 24 hours putting this story together to explain why.

Please share! This is really important!!!

The Supreme Court's Birthright Citizenship Ruling Is a Five-Alarm Catastrophe In Trump v. CASA, the court hands the president yet more unaccountable authorityβ€”and yanks us into a neo-Confederate legal nightmare.

Make no mistake, the SCOTUS decision about birthright citizenship IS ALSO ABOUT *birthright citizenship.*
The Court is using nationwide injunctions as the tail, wagging the dog, to take us back to an Antebellum view of citizenship.
That way led to war once.

When reached for comment, the SCOTUS majority said that "selling nonwhite people into slavery is in keeping with the history and traditions of this country and the Constitution."

We're well into fascism at this point.

That sounds like the kind of thing Congress might impeach a President over. If there were members of Congress that had enough of a spine to do that. If the current ones don't, maybe the primary might be an opportunity to find some that do.

Lawmakers are not legally required to give notice before visiting a facility. For precisely the reason above. This guidance and ICE's habit of blocking lawmakers from touring facilities (and then arresting and charging them) are just illegal. ICE is a rogue agency.

Shaheen is a constant, ongoing disappointment, and I'm terrified that the only option for her replacement is going to be another center-right Dem because everyone's obsessed with courting the Republican vote up here.
