OLD TIMEY MONO and OLD TIMEY CODE 0.9.1 are now available.
0.9.1 fixes some hinting issues and the uppercase 'G'. I also fixed some broken links you may have encountered on the websites. If images are not displaying in Github, it's an issue with Github—they've displayed before just fine.

Use Old Timey Mono for your screenplays and typewritten letters. Use Old Timey Code for programming.
Enjoy!
Ok so not related to merging PRs but in this article of yours: stack-auth.com/blog/on-java... I see an error: all the decimal codepoints are prefixed with "0x".

This hateful gasbag bitch played a huge role in getting us where we are.

Ukraine destroyed 5% of Russia's oil production with FOUR drones in ONE attack on ONE refinery (Russia's 4th largest) and that makes me happy. In total Ukraine destroyed at least 22% of Russia's oil capacity since the war started by consistently striking refineries.
I better see "prosecuting every single last one of those reptile crooks" energy next time. The far right is an invasive species. Think, emerald ash borer, spotted lanterfly, or police officer.
10.02.2025 05:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0...if you remember this book it's that font they used for the code examples and things. While what's shown here doesn't have slashed zeroes or anything, I'm producing coding and "regular" variants. You might like it. (Or not.)
10.02.2025 05:45 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 1Reproducing Typewriter mostly fixed this by shortening the serifs and opening up some of those apertures (but not all of them). In my opinion a few small modifications could make this a decent coding font. As a matter of fact...
10.02.2025 05:40 — 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0Most of those faces had long, close-together serifs and narrower apertures, as on real typewriters; this could cause readability issues at lower point sizes or where reproduction machines could distort the text enough to "bleed" the serifs together or close the apertures.
10.02.2025 05:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0So, back in the early 1900s, if you had a Linotype or Monotype machine, you could get typewriter style typefaces if you wanted to simulate typewritten letters, like for adverts and such. There were fonts based on Underwood, Remington, Smith-Premier, and a few other ones. From a 1923 ATF catalog:

Meijer stopped using plastic bags. Welcome to the future I guess. I’m not a big fan of bags without handles but I’ll get used to taking reusable bags with me. Less plastic is good because I don’t want an even more unlivable hellscape than we’re already going to have.

05.01.2025 07:16 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Turns out if you make fewer malloc calls at a higher level (arrays of strings) instead of millions of malloc calls deeper inside the loop, your program becomes way faster. Also function pointers are cool because to change the state of the finite state automata, you simply change the function.
05.01.2025 07:13 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Repeated fread() calls into a huge buffer instead of repeated fgetc() calls helps. I have NO desire to roll my own memory management instead of using malloc(). Yes this is good old ANSI C (maybe some C99 stuff).
