And that’s pretty much what his character and design all means, I may have left some things out so feel free to ask any questions on anything that I may have missed.

Where did the cracks on his mask come from?
Abuse, mental and physical.
They’re permanent and the mask cannot be replaced, it’s something that he has to live with.
All he can do is push forward.

Why does he wear a mask?
As a person, Haynes has no real personality.
He doesn’t express emotion, he doesn’t laugh or cry.
In order to try to connect with others, he has created this artificial personality, just to feel a little bit normal.

He’s so angular and sharp, why is that?
One of his greatest desires is to be uniform.
All he wants is to be normal, to fit in fine with everyone else, but he can’t.

He’s broken.

Why is he so wet?
The only real way I could describe how depression physically feels is cold and melting; it’s almost like your whole body is crying, like your soul is slowly weathering away.

Who is Haynes?
Haynes is a representation not exactly of my looks, but of my mentality and self image.
