The Q&A session was so adorable, but a real connection sparked when I shared my obsession with collecting the cutest Pokémon cards. One attendee even gave me a new life goal: to take the cutest Pikachu card to space. Talk about career inspiration! ✨

We went over how one can navigate a career in designing for science, celebrated the Hubble Space Telescope's 35th anniversary, and I shared some insights from my NASA Goddard Space Flight Center internship. We also experienced visual science communication in action!

April held exciting design-work wins, but a fun highlight was presenting as a keynote speaker to my largest audience yet: 100 bright elementary and middle school students at Arizona Science Center's "Space Rocks!" for their Girls in #STEM series!

The topic? "Did you know you can draw for science?!"

It's my second week as an intern at NASA Goddard thanks to the Brooke Owens Fellowship and I have been having a blast learning all about the sci comm and design projects I will get to be a part of this summer! I even got to see Hubble's operations control room!
