I very rarely post or even reply on here because I'm terrified of embarrassing myself, but it really was a lot of fun to sprinkle likes and replies and post my screenshots throughout the week. A joyful experience at a time when I really needed it. Next year is gonna be so much fun.

Last week was another horrible news week, and yet I had actual fun seeing so many donation posts, people making great jokes and encouraging one another to give, creating a sense of a bunch of people coming together in common pursuit of the good. (Should I say "community" here?)

This was my first year participating and as much as I loved the feeling of helping people, I think a really important secondary effect was actually being able to experience joy on social media. The Charity Bowl makes social media enjoyable.

Rankings for schools competing in the Beanpot, an annual college hockey tournament in Boston featuring Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern.

Rankings for schools in the Big 5, a traditional college basketball round robin grouping in Philadelphia. The Big 5 schools are St. Joe's, Villanova, Penn, Temple, La Salle, and Drexel. Yes, that's six and not five; they didn't include Drexel for a long time but they kept the name.

The custom group standings are also fun for making this a multi-sport experience.
