Mister Killeroni, a walking, cartoon slice of anthropomorphic pizza holds a knife in the air while grinning in what is undoubtedly a sinister and very wrong manner. The Kil-a-Pizza logo is above him and the strapline 'I COULD MURDER A SLICE' underneath.

In addition to my crime-comedy books being set in the fictional UK city of Kilchester, I sometimes get caught up in procrastinatory shenanigans such as creating logos for the equally fictional businesses that exist there.

Kil-a-Pizza - I could murder a slice! A cartoon hand bursts from a pizza wielding a knife while giving a jaunty thumbs-up. Huzzah!

I suppose I should probably (occasionally) do obtuse introduction-adjacent posts.

I’m not sure if people realise that using Gen AI art isn’t ambient or unweighted. It creates a visceral rejection reaction in certain people (like me). You might as well illustrate your work with old screen grabs from Rotten dot com.

I’ve come to think of it like world-building in a fantasy novel. You have to decide what the rules of magic are going to be and stick to them.
Striking the balance with drama is difficult to begin with!
