28.06.2025 17:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Seeing "& Juliet" while wearing another me made garment! Well, I made the skirt anyway.
I've had this fabric for around 8-10 years, figured it was time to use it ๐
It came together so easily and quick!
There's an American made Pippi Longstocking movie from the 80s that I was obsessed with as a kid and watched it once a week. It has lots of musical numbers and is probably why I'm so obsessed with musicals.
The movie set unrealistic expectations on how fun cleaning is.
But damn she's fierce.
The trend of distressed/raw edge denim shorts can hurry up and go away. Went thrifting at three different stores and I only managed to find one pair of shorts that are in my size with a high rise and finished hems.

I saw a slight variation of this during one of my sessions, and it's stuck with me 3.5 years afterwards.
This is me seeing my joy.
This one is about my inability to communicate using ASL; which is my native language as a Deaf person.
Bad advice given when I was late diagnosed with my Deafness, so that's why I don't know ASL.

One of the perks of being 4"11' is being able to fit into tight places to work and leverage.
The bathroom sink spigot needed to be replaced so today it got done. The old one was so corroded, and put up a fight.
Bruised knee, shoulder and elbow, and two hours later, it was done.
Also. So. Sore.
I've decided to do a series of self portraits after I did my last one, and I finished my second one two days ago. This is about my relationship with my Deafness.
I'm very pleased with how well I did on my ears, they are the main subject after all.

Saw Wicked last night, and after the show I did a quick impromptu photoshoot near the theatre we saw the musical at, plus one inside the building.
I love how this dress came together! I got so many compliments and it was fun to tell people I made it.
My paternal ancestors immigrated from Mexico to escape the Porfiriato through not so legal means to escape what Diaz was doing during that time.
I grew up hearing my family saying slurs about other people making that same decision; the internalized racism breaks my brain.
#SLCPunk! Is one of my top five favorite movies, and I ordered this ring to help support the storytelling of @jamesmerendino.bsky.social
I also had it engraved with a quote to remind me to love myself unconditionally.

Well, the underdress has turned into a romper, and I just finished it today! Getting a good fit on this was a challenge, but I'm glad I was able to! I love how it's turned out and I'm excited to work on the rest of it! Optimistic I'll have it done tomorrow, actually.
17.04.2025 04:07 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Saw Matt Nathanson tonight doing something I've always wanted to do.. wear lingerie as outerwear!
It was a great show and I got to ask him a question during the preshow hangout and I think he loved my question, since his face lit up as he was answering.

It's going to be a challenge to make this dress since I've got a limited amount of fabric for a full circle skirt & bodice.

I went to the eye doctor and I now have a prescription for bifocals.

I knew picking up Granny hobbies as a teenager was going to age me somehow.
Also my pupils have been dilated and this is hard to type on my phone.
I enjoy the challenge of painting small things. #MagicTheGathering cards make the perfect small canvas. Of course, I'm gonna represent as a fan of #TheExpanse, so here's the 1st! From ep 409, Holden calls it 'The eye of an angry god'. They wiped out the protomolecule builders, so the card name fits.

This post is about the fact that I made my dress! Well, technically it's a top and skirt.
But I made it! I wasn't able to do everything I wanted with it, but I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish.
Gonna start using this app more frequently, or at least try to.
I have ADHD, so new habits are hard.
I had an absolute blast on Monday night talking with John and Brian about the Kickstarter project, our love for storytelling, and other things we're passionate about.
Thanks for hanging out with us Brian! And of course a big thank you to John for having me on.
Four random facts about me:
1. I read the full novel of Peter Pan when I was 6 years old.
2. I learned how to read by watching Jeopardy.
3. I didn't learn how to whistle until I was 17.
4. I used to give myself tattoos on the bottom of my big toes with pen ink mixed with rubbing alcohol.
